6 days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Depart from Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village with stunning kasbahs. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” and visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt. Drive through the Valley of Roses and reach the Dades Gorges, famous for its scenic rock formations. Spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse in the Dades Gorges.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert Camel Ride
After breakfast, continue your journey to the Todra Gorges, famous for its towering canyon walls. Take a walk through the narrow canyons and admire the dramatic scenery. Continue driving through the desert landscapes to Erfoud.
From Erfoud, reach Merzouga, a village located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Experience a sunset camel ride through the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arrive at the desert camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night in a traditional Berber tent.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Tour – Nomads and Gnawa Village
After breakfast, explore the Merzouga desert. Visit a local nomadic family and learn about their traditional way of life. Experience the vibrant Gnawa music, a traditional Moroccan musical genre. Enjoy the desert landscapes and take in the serene atmosphere. Return to the desert camp for dinner and another night under the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Nkob
After breakfast, depart from Merzouga and drive to Rissani. Explore the town’s traditional market and experience its lively atmosphere. Continue the journey to Nkob, a small village in the Draa Valley. Admire the beautiful landscapes of the Draa Valley along the way. Spend the night in a riad or guesthouse in Nkob.
Day 5: Nkob – Zagora Desert
After breakfast, continue the desert adventure towards Zagora. Pass through the scenic landscapes of the Draa Valley, with its palm groves and kasbahs. Reach Zagora, a desert town known for its historic significance. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and the beauty of the desert surroundings. Spend the night in a desert camp in Zagora.
Day 6: Zagora – Tazakht – Marrakech
After breakfast, depart from Zagora and drive towards Tazakht. Pass through picturesque landscapes and rural villages.
Arrive in Tazakht, known for its traditional crafts and Berber carpets. Explore the town and visit local artisan workshops. Continue the journey back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening, marking the end of your 6-day desert tour.
